Worstenbroodje

Sausage bread; general term for sausage in pastry.

Wit Broodje

The Dutch milk-dough white roll: bolletje or puntje, sliced flat, buttered and filled with kaas, ham, eiersalade or a hot kroket. Kadetje is attested since 1823.

Volkoren Broodje

The Dutch whole-grain roll: bran-flecked crumb, thin crust, butter and cheese. Its best-documented lineage runs back to a twelve-loaf Amsterdam bakery opened in 1896.

Uitsmijter

The uitsmijter is the Dutch lunch plate you are not allowed to pick up: buttered bread, a topping you choose, and two or three running-yolk fried eggs, cut with a knife and fork sitting down.
